How Lane Kiffin is dealing with the problems at Tennessee will have a huge impact in his future coaching success. It will effect recruiting, team chemistry and ultimately wins and losses. This has been a recurring problem since Fulmer’s tenure at Tennessee. Can Kiffin get Tennessee turned around and is he handling these situations correctly. Yes, he had another player arrested before the latest three. The first offense was shoplifting which is not acceptable, but the recent armed robbery of the last three is extremely serious. Should Kiffin crack down and start releasing any player arrested to send a message and get this program under control?

Rocky Top Tennessee — Kiffin Brings Excitement

It’s fair to say Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin has said some things in the media that maybe he shouldn’t have. He has also taken some criticism regarding those comments. My insight on Coach Kiffin’s comments are right on. He is a young, energetic coach that appears to be creating a buzz around his program to reignite rivalries within the SEC and to also get national recognition that can only benefit Tennessee in recruiting. It appears this is all part of his plan to restore Tennessee Football to greatness and I can’t think of a better way to do it. After watching Tennessee play several times this year one can see Kiffin is clearly on the right track. Once he signs a couple of great recruiting classes Tennessee could be back on top in the SEC. There is substantial improvement on defense this year with the Vols and the offense is coming along nicely. This Tennessee Football program and head coach Lane Kiffin is one to watch…and remember the newest addition to his family, a son, is named Monte Knox Kiffin and goes by “Knox”. It’s clear to see Kiffin is completely dedicated to restoring Tennessee Football to greatness.

Gators Chomp Tennessee and The Huskies Take Down the Trojans

There were many exciting games week 3 of the college football season. Two games in particular stick out in my mind.

1. Tennessee vs. Florida (1) – Florida proved they are the number 1 team in college football right now. They looked great and made big plays when they needed to. However, Tennessee played a great game as well. Most didn’t expect it to even be close and if the hitch n go play Kiffin called at end of the 4th quarter wasn’t intercepted, you were looking at a 3 point game. Tennessee played Florida closer than anyone else has yet and probably closer then most will the rest of the season. One thing is for sure from watching today’s game….Florida is the real deal and I expect to see them playing in the Rose Bowl January 7th.

2. USC (3) vs. Washington- The outcome of today’s game was unthinkable just a year ago for Husky fans who watched their team finish 0-12 last year. For football fans in general no one saw Washington (1-1) beating USC (2-0). A field goal at the end gave the Huskies a 3 point lead with three seconds left and sealed the fate of the Trojans, who played without three starting offensive linemen. Give credit to Steve Sarkissian as the head coach, but also Nick Holt for an impressive defensive game plan. The defense won this game! Lastly, it needs to be said that Pete Carroll is one of the classiest head coaches in college football. He truly was disappointed about the loss but very proud, as he put it, of Sarkissian for the job he is doing at UW.
